For 60 years, our multigenerational company has played a central role in Greater Toronto’s home building community. Even though Acorn was founded in the 1980s, its roots can be traced back all the way to the 1950s through the development of several multi-family dwellings and a strong trade heritage.
In the early 1960s, the principals of the future Acorn, together with industry partners, formed BAIF Developments Limited, a progressive and fully integrated real estate development company that is responsible for creating many landmarks, such as the initial site development of the well-known Yonge and Eglinton Centre. Over three generations, our family business would evolve to include construction; industrial, commercial and residential property management; and high-rise, land, and residential development to its portfolio.
